RECOMMENDATION: Approve Change Order No. 1 to Agreement No. A07-44 with Landmark Fence Company, Inc. — Bid Package 8A -to install an electric slide gate operator on Boys Republic Drive, add fencing at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, and a chain link gate in the perimeter fence per SCE right-of-way requirements for a total amount of$11,761. _BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS: n January 23, 2007, the City Council approved the plans and specifications and provided authorization to staff to solicit bids for the construction of the Chino Hills Government Center and Infrastructure Improvements Project Phase 2. On March 27, 2007, April 10, 2007, May 22, 2007, June 12, 2007, and finally on March 28, 2008, City Council approved award of all trade contracts for the City of Chino Hills Government Center project. During the course of the Ring Road Infrastructure project, several items were identified that were missing from the bid documents but were required due to the City's final agreements with SCE, Boys Republic, and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Landmark Fence Company presented documentation that they completed the additional work not identified including: 1) the addition of one pair of 26-foot wide chain link gates at the SCE right-of-way per the final SCE right-to-grade requirements, 2)the addition of 267 linear feet of 6-foot vinyl fencing at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church new parking lot and, 3) provided one new one (1) HP automatic slide gate operator at the new driveway to Boys Republic. Staff has reviewed the contractor's claimed extra costs and recommends that the City Council approve Change Order No. 1 with Landmark Fence Company, Inc. in the amount of$11,761.
