Authorize a status change of improvement performance security to guarantee/warranty for the Water Pump Stations No. 1 and 2 improvements required for Tract Map 15164. al 2. Adopt a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHINO HILLS ACCEPTING WATER PUMP STATIONS NO. 1 AND 2 OF TRACT 15164 INTO THE CITY-MAINTAINED SYSTEM BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS: The original improvement securities for Chino Hills Land West, L.L.C. and Chino Hills Mortgage, L.L.C., 333 South Grand Avenue, 28th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90071, were accepted on November 27, 2001. The project consists of 205 single-family detached homes, a golf course, clubhouse and amenities, a golf course maintenance building, two city parks, open space, and trails. On January 22, 2008, the City Council authorized a twelve (12) month extension of time to November 27, 2008, and seventy-five percent (75%) reduction of the faithful performance securities for Water Pump Stations No. 1 and 2 required for Tract Map 15164. The construction of Water Pump Stations No. 1 and 2 have been completed and, at the request of the developer, this facility has been inspected by the Engineering Department, the Public Facilities and Operations Department, and the Community 41, Development Department and was determined to have been built in accordance with the approved plans. The facility has been tested and placed into public operation as of /9/5 AGENDA DATE: May 13, 2008 Page 2 SUBJECT: BOND STATUS CHANGE FOR WATER PUMP STATIONS NO. 1 AND 2 OF TRACT MAP 15164, AND ACCEPTANCE INTO THE CITY-MAINTAINED SYSTEM May 13, 2008. The improvements have been approved for a status change to guarantee/warranty for a period of one (1) year to May 13, 2009, to guarantee against defective work and materials. Maintenance of Water Pump Stations No. 1 and 2 is funded through the Water Utilities Fund. REVIEW BY OTHERS: This item was reviewed by the City Attorney, the Public Facilities and Operations Director, and the Finance Director. Holland, Interim City Engineer RWYM/ps Attachment RESOLUTION NO. 08R- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHINO HILLS ACCEPTING WATER PUMP STATIONS NO. 1 AND 2 IN TRACT 15164 INTO THE CITY-MAINTAINED SYSTEM WHEREAS, Water Pump Stations No. 1 and 2 were required to be constructed as part of Tract Map No. 15164 (Vellano Country Club with an18-hole private golf course and 205 single-family detached homes); and WHEREAS, the various City departments have inspected the improvements for the sewer lift station and determined that the improvements were installed per plan; and WHEREAS, the Water Utilities Fund will fund the maintenance of the water booster stations; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest that the water booster stations shall be maintained by the City. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Chino Hills, does hereby Alikresolve, determine, find, and order as follows: 11111, SECTION 1. That Water Pump Stations No. 1 and 2 be accepted into the City- Maintained System. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify as to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the book of original Resolutions. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this day of May 2008.
