Discussion Item: 0 Consent Item: May 6, 2008 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM: CITY MANAGER SUBJECT: AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE PEYTON DRIVE ENTRY MONUMENT PROJECT AND OTHER RELATED ITEMS RECOMMENDATION: 1. Award a contract to Landmark Site Contractors, in the amount of $238,329 for the Peyton Drive Entry Monument Project. 2. Authorize staff to issue a Notice of Award. 41. 3. Authorize staff to accept performance bonds, payment bonds, and proof of insurance, and to issue a Notice to Proceed upon receipt and acceptance of such. BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS: On March 25, 2008, the City Council authorized staff to solicit bids for the Peyton Drive Entry Monument Project. On April 24, 2008, four (4) bids were received and are summarized as follows: Contractor Amount of Bid 1. Landmark Site Contractors $238,329 2. C. S. Legacy Construction $275,809 3. Hondo Company $292,608 4. Gentry Brothers $423,625 Staff recommends that the City Council award a contract to the apparent low bidder, Landmark Site Contractors, in the amount of$238,329. Staff checked reports of references for this contractor and received favorable reports.
