BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS: Upon incorporation, the City of Chino Hills acquired various sewer line facilities previously owned and operated by the County of San Bernardino Service Area No. 70Q. One of these facilities is an 8-inch sewer line in Riverside Drive outside of the city limits. It begins approximately 100-feet west of the intersection of Riverside Drive and East End Avenue, and continues east for approximately 860 linear feet. Under the current LAFCO agreement, the City of Chino Hills is prohibited from allowing any connection to this facility since it lies outside of the jurisdictional boundaries of the city. This sewer line lies within the Sphere of Influence of the City of Chino, and staff has coordinated with the City of Chino to assume ownership of this line. Staff recommends that the City Council approve the quitclaim in favor of the City of Chino. REVIEW BY OTHERS: This agenda item has been reviewed by the City Attorney, the Finance Director, and the Public Works Director. Said sewer facility begins 100 feet west of East End Avenue (station -0+30.00) and ends approximately 665 feet east of East End Avenue (station 7+36.00) as shown on sewer improvement plans titled "San Bernardino County Waterworks District No. 8, Sewer Plan, along Riverside Drive from station -0+30 to station 7+38", approved by the County on 10/25/1991.
