Consent item: City Clerk's Department January 5, 2016 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: CITY MANAGER SUBJECT: PURCHASE ORDERS FOR CITY VEHICLES RECOMMENDATION: 1. Authorize issuance of a purchase order to Reynolds Buick/GMC/Isuzu, Inc. in the amount of $99,804.85 for the purchase of two (2) GMC pick-up trucks and one (1) GMC Terrain SLE. 2. Authorize issuance of a purchase order to Fairview Ford Sales, Inc. in the amount of $83,707.93 for the purchase of (one) 1 Ford F-550 XL flatbed pickup with spray rig equipment. BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS: As part of the FY 2015/16 budget, the City Council approved the purchase of various replacement and new vehicle additions to the fleet. The Public Works Department prepared the various vehicle specifications and started the procurement process. A formal Request for Bid for Vehicle Purchase No. 1516-01 was posted on the City's website and advertised in a local newspaper on November 4, 2015. This truck will contain spray equipment to be used for roadside weed control as well as other spray-needs in the City. Public Works is currently contracting roadside weed control and this work will be performed in- house at a cost savings. e Li} GMC Terrain SLE This small sport utility vehicle is a replacement for vehicle #5028. Vehicle #5028 was purchased in 2002 and has outlived its useful life. « 1) GMC Sierra Double Cab 1500 Series Pickup Truck This truck is a replacement for vehicle #5045 currently in use by the Facilities section. Vehicle #5045 was purchased in 2004 and was damaged beyond repair in a traffic accident. (1} GMC Sierra Double Cab 2500 Series Pickup Truck This truck is a replacement for vehicle for #5060 currently in use by the Sanitation section. Vehicle #5060 was purchased in 2006 and has outlived its useful life. REVIEW BY OTHERS: This item was reviewed by the Finance Director. FISCAL IMPACT: These vehicles are funded in the FY 2015/2016 budget. CEQA REVIEW: This action is not a project within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act (California Public Resources Code § 21000, et seq., "CEQA") and CEQA Guidelines (Title 14 California Code of Regulations § 15000, et seq.)
