During this
review, staff also noted that there are only two 25 MPH signs posted in the northbound
and southbound directions throughout the one-half mile residential corridor. This issue
was presented to the Traffic Safety Committee along with the following
recommendations from the Assistant City Engineer:
• Install two additional 25 MPH speed limit signs (one in each direction) along Yorba
Avenue
• Repaint the existing "25" pavement legends
• Add "25" pavement markings to remind drivers of the posted speed limit
• Replace, the two existing 25 MPH speed limit signs with larger signs
The committee members unanimously concurred with the recommendations, and our
Police Department also agreed to increase attention to speed limit enforcement along
this roadway. Staff will continue to monitor the traffic conditions on Yorba Avenue for
compliance with the posted speed limit.
If you should have any questions, please contact Joe Dyer at 364-2771, or Nadeem
Majaj at 364-2801.
KB:NM:JD:ssr
